Description

Viagra is a medication based on sildenafil used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men. The main component of Viagra is Sildenafil Citrate. It works by enhancing smooth muscle relaxation using nitric oxide, a chemical that is normally released in response to sexual stimulation. This relaxation allows increased blood flow into certain areas of the penis, leading to an erection. Sildenafil Citrate is also applied for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. It may also be used for other purposes not listed above.

Dosage and Direction

The usual recommended dose is 50 mg. It should be taken approximately 0.5-1 hour before sexual activity. Do not take Viagra more than once a day. A high-fat meal may delay the onset of the drug's effects. Try to avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while being treated with Sildenafil Citrate.

Precautions

Before you start taking Sildenafil Citrate, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it, or if you have any other allergies. Older individuals may be more sensitive to the side effects of the drug.

Contraindications

Viagra is contraindicated in patients taking another medication for impotence or using a nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problems. This medicine should not be taken by women and children, as well as by patients with a known hypersensitivity to any component of the tablet.

Possible Side Effects

The most common side effects are:

  • headache
  • flushing
  • heartburn
  • stomach upset
  • nasal stuffiness
  • lightheadedness
  • dizziness or diarrhea

A serious allergic reaction to this drug is very rare, but seek immediate medical help if it occurs. Many people using this medicine do not have serious side effects. If you notice any side effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Drug Interaction

This drug should not be used with nitrates and recreational drugs called "poppers" containing amyl or butyl nitrite, alpha-blocker medications, other medications for impotence, high blood pressure medicines, etc. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

Missed Dose

Viagra is used as needed, so you are unlikely to be on a dosing schedule.

Overdose

If you think you have used too much of this medicine, seek emergency medical attention right away. Symptoms of overdose usually include chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat, and feeling light-headed or fainting.

Storage

Store your medicines at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not store the drugs in the bathroom. Keep all drugs away from the reach of children and pets.

Common Use (Czech Text)

Viagra is a sildenafil-based medication used to treat erectile dysfunction in men due to its enhanced formulation, which acts faster and lasts longer compared to Brand Viagra or generic Viagra.

Its mechanism of action is similar to that of Brand Viagra and generic Viagra; its active ingredient is Sildenafil Citrate, which interacts with natural sexual stimulation mechanisms and uses nitric oxide (a natural body chemical) to relax smooth muscles. This increases blood flow to certain areas of the penis, leading to an erection. Viagra's specific ability to interact with blood flow is effective in treating pulmonary arterial hypertension, but it also requires caution as it may cause side effects related to blood pressure.

Possible Side Effects (Czech Text)

Side effects of Viagra are rare but may include:

  • allergic reaction (very rare, but must be reported to your doctor immediately);
  • dizziness, headache, or lightheadedness;
  • flushed face;
  • nasal congestion;
  • stomach pain and/or diarrhea;
  • heartburn;
  • impaired vision.

To reduce the risk of side effects, ensure your doctor approves the use of Viagra if:

  • you are sensitive or allergic to sildenafil or other substances;
  • you are taking other medications for erectile dysfunction;
  • you are using nitrate medications for chest pain, heart disease, or hypertension;
  • you are using recreational drugs containing amyl or butyl nitrite ("poppers") or alpha-blockers.

Avoid grapefruit juice as it may interact with Sildenafil Citrate during treatment with Viagra.

Overdose of Viagra may cause:

  • nausea;
  • weakness or lightheadedness;
  • irregular heartbeat and chest pain.

These symptoms must be reported to your doctor as soon as possible.
